2048 is a puzzle game created by Gabriele Cirulli where numbered tiles spawn in a 4x4 grid, and your objective is to move the tiles around so that like tiles combine until you get a 2048 tile. I recreated 2048 in Unity for my algorithms class in the fall of 2015.

Gismo

Gismo is a Tank AI game that was created by Dr. Frank Coyle at SMU. In this game, players enter a command for their tank with a goal of reaching the yellow square on the enemy base. For this, I extended an interface provided by Dr. Coyle to add functionality for the main player's tank movement, which was intended to introduce us to the use of regular expressions in programming. With regular expressions, the player is able to "encode" tank commands so that enemy tanks would not be able to tell where the player was going, as enemy tanks read in whatever the player types into the command field. The player tank was able to decode any text and search for commands embedded in the string. This was created for an assignment in my programming languages class in the spring of 2016.

For this program, I wrote a C++ program that managed memory using the variable-interval sampled working set policy. The VSWS is designed to minimize thrashing by dynamically adjust the resident set of pages for each process in such a way to maximize the chances of a processes’ working set to be included within its resident set. This program was written for my operating systems class in the Fall of 2016. While it's not a particularly fun program, it demonstrates resource management and object oriented programming fundamentals in C++.

SafeSpot

SafeSpot is a web and Android application built around the idea of keeping people safe. The web app features the ability to save addresses that you know are safe, view hospitals, police stations, and fire departments in an area, and view recent crime in the area. The Android application can give you directions via Google Maps API from your current location to a safe spot of your choice, and also features a quick-call 911 panic button as well as the ability to text designated friends if you are in trouble. This was made for my databases class in the Fall of 2015.

CompFit is a website that allows its users to competitively work out with friends. It features exercise challenges between teams and data visualization to see how much of your current challenge goal is complete. The goal of CompFit is to keep people motivated to exercise will having a bit of fun with it. This website was created for my GUI class in the spring of 2016.

Feline Friendship Force

Feline Friendship Force is a turn based puzzle game designed for Android tablets. The player's goal is to guide two cats to friendship. Feline Friendship Force focuses primarily on the puzzle aspect - navigating through paths and toggling water obstacles in order to unite the cats safely, without getting caught by a dog.

I was one of two programmers on the team. This project gave me an opportunity to develop some leadership skills, as well as improve on my teamwork skills. I enjoyed making Feline Friendship Force, and I really learned the value of core mechanics and a well documented game design document.
